Cicchetti - Italian, Covent Garden

Having worked in Covent Garden for years I some how never made it to Cicchetti (pronounced chi-ket-tee) until this week and boy had I been missing out. This lovely decorated restaurant is set in the heart of Covent Garden and offers Italian tapas. It's best visited with a handful of people to enjoy the spread of dishes available.

Restaurant: Cicchetti

30 Wellington Street, London, WC2E 7BD

Tube: Covent Garden/Charring Cross

There's also one in Piccadilly

Cuisine: Italian Tapas

Dinners: 5 veggies

Atmosphere: 8* lovely decor - fellow veggies be sure to avoid the tables at the back as they do have some meat hanging

Don't miss: Melanzane Parmigiana, Pizza Fritti and Coppa Gelosa dessert

6* As an avocado enthusiast we had to get this to try, while they were yummy and soft it's not too different from what you could have at home so i'd give it a miss next time

8* These grilled aubergines and the sauteed spinach (with less salt) make perfect sides to a slightly carb heavy meal.

7* As someone who is not big on her truffle these truffle gnocchis had a good balance. The bruschetta is an old classic but these fresh tomatoes were very tasty!

6* This soft burrata would have been perfect without the truffle oil

7* From the mains we enjoyed this melanzane parmigiana and the truffle ravioli which are heavy and rich so best when shared

8* My favourite was this fried margherita pizza which is good for 2/3 people to share with a combo of the rest. It's soft and gooey when you break into it.

9* The coppa golosa contained all my favourite things, hazelnut ice cream, nutella and ferrero rochers. It's a must but it's pretty big!
